ABSTRACT In this paper, based on the analysis of oil sludge composition and environmental hazards, the microwave catalytic pyrolysis of oil sludge for recovering combustible gas and chain hydrocarbon light oil disposal process, is proposed to perform the recycling of oil sludge and reduce the risk of environmental pollution. In order to improve the yield of combustible gas and light oil in oil sludge pyrolysis, the impact of adding four catalysts (nano-CuO, nano-NiO, nano-MgO, and nano-γ-Al2O3) on the heating characteristics of oil sludge and the composition and quality of products during microwave pyrolysis, were experimentally studied and analyzed. The results show that the catalyst can increase the heating rate of sludge and the yield of pyrolysis oil and gas. The increasing order of heating is: nano-CuO > nano-γ-Al2O3 > nano-MgO > nano-NiO > blank group. Compared with the blank group, the content of combustible gas (H2 + CH4 + CO) increases by 18.824wt% (MgO), 4.511wt% (CuO), 9.28wt% (NiO), and 16.164wt% (γ-Al2O3), respectively. It can be deduced that nano-metal oxide catalysts, especially γ-Al2O3, can promote the decomposition of oil sludge, improve the content of low carbon straight chain hydrocarbons and alcohols, and improve the quality of pyrolysis oil products.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the sex-specific association between hyperuricemia and the risk of hypertension and whether obesity mediates this association. METHODS: This study included 31,395 (47.0% women) adults without hypertension, cardiovascular disease, or cancer at baseline who completed at least one follow-up annual examination between 2009 and 2016. Cox regression models were performed to calculate hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals. Mediation analysis was conducted to estimate the effect of body mass index on the association between hyperuricemia and hypertension. RESULTS: During a median 2.9-year follow-up, hyperuricemia was significantly associated with a higher risk of hypertension (HR 1.15, 95%CI 1.07-1.24 for all participants; HR 1.12, 95%CI 1.03-1.22 for men; and HR 1.23, 95%CI 1.02-1.48 for women) after adjustment for potential confounders. Additional adjustment for body mass index attenuated this association (HR 1.09, 95%CI 1.08-1.10 for all participants; HR 1.07; 95%CI 0.98-1.16 for men; HR 1.18; 95%CI 0.96-1.44 for women). Mediation analysis showed that BMI partially mediated the relationship between hyperuricemia and incident hypertension (indirect effect HR 1.09, 95%CI 1.08-1.10; direct effect: HR 1.08, 95%CI 1.02-1.15). The percentage of the mediation effect was 53.2% (95%CI 37.9-84.5). CONCLUSION: Hyperuricemia is associated with a risk of hypertension in both sexes, and BMI partially mediates hyperuricemia-related incident hypertension.

Abstract Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an inflammation of the upper genital tract. PID is the leading cause of some severe sequelae in the absence of timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment. An appropriate animal model is needed to explore the underlying mechanism of PID sequelae. This study introduced an animal model of PID by vaginal injection of liquid Ureaplasma urealyticum combined with fatigue and hunger (UVF). This study was designed to test the feasibility of a rat model. A rat model was established using UVF irradiation. Levels of some inflammatory cytokines in the serum and the homogenates of the fallopian tubes were measured by ELISA, RT-PCR, and flow cytometry and compared with another rat model of Ureaplasma urealyticum liquids injected into the two uterus horns during laparotomy. Inflammatory alterations and adhesions were observed after hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and detected using the Blauer scoring system. The results showed that the combined UVF and rat model caused apparent obstruction, edema, and adhesion in the fallopian tubes and connective tissues. The rat model showed upregulated CD4, CD8, and CD4/CD8 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and significantly increased levels of IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, and IL-17. UVF also enhanced the expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) β, and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 (P<0.05). The UVF rat model can induce inflammatory alterations in the fallopian tubes and connective tissues, and can be used as a model of PID.

Abstract Allium mongolicum Regel is a desert plant that shows great resistance to wind erosion, drought, and low temperatures and is widely distributed in the desert lands of China. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying its drought resistance is essential for uncovering drought resistance genes and improving its beneficial traits. Here, a de novo RNA-Seq assembly analysis was conducted using the roots of 1-month-old seedlings under drought stress. Using pairwise comparisons of untreated plants (CK), 48-hour drought plants (G48h), and 96-hour drought plants (G96h), in total, 2,211 differentially expressed unigenes (DEGs) were obtained. Furthermore, using functional annotation, these DEGs were mainly involved in the plasma membrane, photosynthesis, and secondary carbohydrate metabolism. Moreover, genes involved in the ABA-mediated signaling pathway and secondary metabolism were upregulated in the roots. These results suggest that desert plants may use signaling and secondary metabolic pathways as adaptive responses to drought stress. Collectively, this work could help elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying the ability of A. mongolicum Regel to respond to drought stress and aid in the selection of novel drought tolerance genes.

Resumen Allium mongolicum Regel es un tipo de planta desértica que muestra una gran resistencia a la erosión eólica, la sequía y las bajas temperaturas; se distribuye ampliamente en las tierras desérticas de China. Comprender los mecanismos moleculares subyacentes a la resistencia a la sequía de A. mongolicum Regel es esencial para descubrir genes resistentes a la sequía y mejorar este rasgo beneficioso en otras plantas. Aquí, el análisis de ensamblaje de ARN-Seq de novo se llevó a cabo utilizando las raíces de plántulas de 1 mes de edad en respuesta al estrés por sequía. Utilizando comparaciones por pares de plantas no tratadas (CK), plantas de 48 horas (G48h) y plantas de 96 horas (G96h), se obtuvieron un total de 2.211 unigenes (DEGs) expresados diferencialmente. Mientras tanto, usando la anotación funcional, estos DEGs fueron implicados principalmente en la membrana de plasma, la fotosíntesis, y el metabolismo de carbohidrato secundario. Por otra parte, los genes implicados en el camino ABA-mediado de la señalización y en metabolismo secundario para arriba fueron regulados para arriba en raíces. Estos resultados sugieren que las plantas del desierto pueden utilizar la señalización y las vías metabólicas secundarias como respuestas adaptativas al estrés por sequía. Colectivamente, este trabajo ayudará a comprender los mecanismos moleculares subyacentes a la capacidad de A. mongolicum Regel para responder al estrés por sequía y ayudar en la selección de nuevos genes de tolerancia a la sequía.

Abstract Objectives: Dexmedetomidine (DEX) is a highly selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, which is the main sedative in the intensive care unit. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness and adverse events of DEX in maintaining hemodynamic stability in pediatric cardiac surgery. Sources: Databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science, WANFANG STATA and China National Knowledge Infrastructure were searched for articles about the application of DEX in maintaining hemodynamic stability during and after pediatric cardiac surgery up to 18th Feb. 2021. Only randomized controlled trials were included and random-effects model meta-analysis was applied to calculate the standardized mean deviation (SMD), odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Summary of the findings: Fifteen articles were included for this meta-analysis, and 9 articles for qualitative analysis. The results showed that preoperative prophylaxis and postoperative recovery of DEX in pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery were effective in maintaining systolic blood pressure (SBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and reducing heart rate (HR) (SBP: SMD = -0.35,95% CI: -0.72, 0.01; MAP: SMD = -0.83, 95% CI: -1.87,0.21; DBP: SMD = -0.79,95% CI: -1.66,0.08; HR: SMD = -1.71,95% CI: -2.29, -1.13). In addition, the frequency of Junctional Ectopic Tachycardia in the DEX treatment group was lower than that in the placebo group. Conclusions: The application of DEX for preoperative prophylaxis and postoperative recovery in pediatric cardiac surgery patients are effective in maintaining hemodynamic stability, and the clinical dose of DEX is not significantly related to the occurrence of pediatric adverse events which may be related to individual differences.

Abstract In order to reduce post-harvest losses, the classification of fresh apples is crucial. Taking the hierarchical transmission control system as the object, the research was carried out on the verification of the bus network can flexibly expand the motor equipment, the stable and reliable operation of the motor, and the accuracy of Apple's classification. Combine Labview virtual instrument technology to realize the design of Apple's hierarchical transmission control system based on Controller Area Network technology. Fuzzy PID and traditional PID algorithms are used to simulate and realize the operation of brushless DC motor, and compare the advantages of brushless DC motor control based on fuzzy PID to ensure the safe and stable operation of the system. Using the machine learning algorithms model for color detection, the Support Vector Machine algorithm model finally achieved the classification of the three types of apple samples with a recognition rate of 96.7%.

Abstract To evaluate effect of targeted individualized nutrition support on therapeutic effect and safety of patients with severe diseases during hospitalization. All patients were divided into control group and the observation group according to the time of admission. All enrolled patients received symptomatic treatment and intensive care. The control group received only basic nutrition support. There was no significant difference in NRS2002 score between the two groups at admission. Before intervention, there were no significant differences of total serum protein, serum albumin, hemoglobin content, liver and kidney functions and immune indexes between both groups. After intervention, the total serum protein, serum albumin and hemoglobin content of observation group was significantly higher than those of control group. The incidence of adverse events and complications of observation group was significantly lower than control group during hospitalization. The targeted individualized nutrition support could improve nutritional status of patients with severe surgical diseases during hospitalization.

Abstract Spices play an important role in the formation of stewed meat flavor, and it is necessary to establish a rapid detection technology for flavor in stewed meat production. The aim of this work was to discover the variation of volatiles from Cinnamomum cassia Presl in different processing processes and to establish a real-time detection method during processing. The relative content of volatile components of Cinnamomum cassia Presl from powder to extract and from extract to beef was compared in different processes. The volatile compounds were analyzed by headspace sampling and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-GC-MS). A total of 20 components were detected in the cinnamon powder. In the marinade processing, the most volatile components was detected in marinade when marinating for 1 hour, such as cinnamic acid(4.39%), cinnamaldehyde (46.57%), anethole(8.05%), α-pinene(7.38%), naphthalene,1,2,4a,5,6,8a-hexahydro-4,7-dimethyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-(0.93%), α-muurolene(8.99%), naphthalene,1,2,3,5,6,8a-hexahydro-4,7-dimethyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-,(1S-cis)-(20.31%), naphthalene,1,2,3,4,4a,7-hexahydro-1,6-dimethyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-(3.03%) and α-calacorene(0.35%). In the bittern processing, the flavor components in the bittern when cooking for 15 minutes were the most and 7 components were detected which were cinnnamic acid(3.69%), cinnamaldehyde(70.67%), anethole(4.37%), α-pinene(1.62%), α-muurolene(3.69%), naphthalene,1,2,3,5,6,8a-hexahydro-4,7-dimethyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-, (1S-cis)-(14.17%) and naphthalene,1,2,3,4,4a,7-hexahydro-1,6-dimethyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-(1.79%). The relative content of the volatile components in two bittern were slightly different. In two processes, only cinnamaldehyde was detected in the stewed beef, where a small amount of α-pinene was detected when marinating for 1 hour and bitterning for 45 minutes. Cinnamaldehyde can be used as the main indicator for the detection of processing. HS-GC-MS can be used as a real-time detection method in the marinade and bittern processing.

ABSTRACT Purpose: Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a major public health problem with a huge economic burden worldwide. Ulinastatin (UTI), a serine protease inhibitor, has been reported to be anti-inflammatory, immune regulation, and organ protection by reducing reactive oxygen species production, and inflammation. Necroptosis is a programmed cell death mechanism that plays a vital role in neuronal cell death after ICH. However, the neuroprotection of UTI in ICH has not been confirmed, and the potential mechanism is unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the neuroprotection and potential molecular mechanisms of UTI in ICH-induced EBI in a C57BL/6 mouse model. Methods: The neurological score, brain water content, neuroinflammatory cytokine levels, and neuronal damage were evaluated. The anti-inflammation effectiveness of UTI in ICH patients also was evaluated. Results: UTI treatment markedly increased the neurological score, alleviate the brain edema, decreased the inflammatory cytokine TNF-α, interleukin‑1β (IL‑1β), IL‑6, NF‑κB levels, and RIP1/RIP3, which indicated that UTI-mediated inhibition of neuroinflammation, and necroptosis alleviated neuronal damage after ICH. UTI also can decrease the inflammatory cytokine of ICH patients. The neuroprotective capacity of UTI is partly dependent on the MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway. Conclusions: UTI improves neurological outcomes in mice and reduces neuronal death by protecting against neural neuroinflammation, and necroptosis.

Abstract The classification algorithms of different peanut varieties were studied based on hyperspectral imaging technology. Firstly, the spectral images of five peanut species were collected by hyperspectral instrument produced by Zhuolihanguang Co., LTD. Then SpacVIEW was used to correct the spectral images in black and white, and ENVI5.1 was used to extract the interest in the spectral image of each peanut and calculate the mean spectral reflection value of the region. The spectral characteristic curves of the five peanut samples all showed certain differences, which lays a foundation for the feasibility of modeling in the next step. In order to eliminate the influence of non-quality factor information in hyperspectral spectral data, a variety of data preprocessing methods were used to eliminate noise in the original spectral data, and XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost and GBDT algorithms were used to extract feature bands. XGBoost and LightGBM were then used for classification modeling of extracted feature bands. In the classification model, both XGBoost and LightGBM can reach 99.33%, while other performance evaluation indexes cannot distinguish these two models well. Therefore, Optuna algorithm was selected to optimize the two algorithms respectively. After optimization, both LightGBM and XGBoost have improved to varying degrees, but LightGBM is relatively obvious, especially in fit_time, which is 11 times faster than XGBoost and 16 times faster than before optimization. Therefore, the best classification algorithm selected in this study is MF-LightGBM-LightGBM-Optuna-LightGBM. The research of peanut classification method provides a strong theoretical basis and technical support for the revitalization of rural industry, the integration of peanut agriculture and industry and the acceleration of the modernization of agricultural industry system, production system and management system.

Abstract Study on the effects and mechanisms of different oils on spatial learning and memory in developing rats. Fifty-six Sprague Dawley (SD) rats with primary weaning were randomly divided into the 7 groups, DHA, walnut oil, perilla oil, safflower seed oil, α-linoleic acid, and Essential fatty acid (EFA)-deficient and negative control. Morris water maze behavioral test was performed after 8 weeks of continuous feeding. Real-time fluorescence quantification and immunoblotting were performed to evaluate changes in the expression of NR1, CREB and c-Fos in rat hippocampus, qPCR detected the expression in hippocampal cells. The results showed that the rats fed various oils significant improvement in the Morris water maze test. The mRNA expression of NR1, CREB and c-Fos in the hippocampus of rats fed with various oils were significantly up-regulated (P<0.05 and P<0.01), and CREB and c-Fos proteins expression were up-regulated (P<0.05). The expression of genes and proteins in hippocampus of EFA-deficient control was not significantly different from negative control. It is suggested that polyunsaturated fatty acids could significantly improve the learning and memory ability of rats, which may be through regulating the mRNA expression of cfos, CREB and NR1 in rat hippocampus and the synthesis of CREB and c-Fos proteins.

Abstract In order to realize the rapid nondestructive detection of mildew peanut in the process of peanuts storage, hyperspectral imaging technology was proposed to detect mildew peanut. A total of 200 peanuts were selected from 5 kinds of peanuts purchased in the market for moldy treatment, and the remaining 400 peanuts were kept sterile. After completion, samples were collected with a hyperspectral instrument to obtain spectral data of the samples. According to the characteristics of the data, 10 pre-processing algorithms were used to de-noise the data, and Median Filtering (MF) had the best effect, with the recognition accuracy reaching 97.7%. GBDT, LightGBM, CatBoost and XGBoost algorithms were used to extract important feature bands in the spectral data pre-processed by MF. GBDT, LightGBM, CatBoost and XGBoost algorithms were used to model the extracted feature bands. The results showed that LightGBM is the best algorithm with a detection rate of 99.10%. Optuna algorithm was used to tune its parameters. Compared with the previous model, the running time of the optimized model was improved by about 0.25 s. The results showed that hyperspectral imaging provides an efficient and nondestructive method for detecting mildew in peanut storage.

Resumo Fundamento Doenças cardiovasculares são a principal causa de morte na China. Entretanto, os esforços atuais para se identificar os fatores de risco de morte em pacientes hospitalizados com insuficiência cardíaca (IC) estão direcionados principalmente para a mortalidade durante a internação e a mortalidade após 30 dias nos Estados Unidos. Dessa forma, é necessário um modelo semelhante ao modelo utilizado para prever o risco considerado para procedimentos cirúrgicos cardiovasculares em pacientes para avaliar o risco de pacientes internados com diagnóstico de IC. Objetivo Identificar variáveis que podem prever a mortalidade por IC um ano após a alta hospitalar, e desenvolver um escore de risco para avaliar o risco de morte no período de um ano. Métodos No presente estudo, 1.742 pacientes chineses com IC foram divididos aleatoriamente em dois grupos: um grupo de amostra de derivação e um grupo de amostra de teste. O método de simulação Monte Carlo via Cadeias de Markov foi usado para identificar variáveis que podem prever a mortalidade um ano após a alta hospitalar. Variáveis com uma frequência >1% na análise bivariada, e que foram consideradas clinicamente significativas, foram qualificadas para análises de modelagens posteriores. A probabilidade posterior de que uma variável estava estatística e significativamente associada ao resultado foi calculada como o número total de vezes em que o IC de 95% da variável não coincidiu com 1 (ou seja, o ponto de referência), dividido pelo número total de iterações. Uma variável com uma probabilidade de 0,9 ou mais alta foi considerado um fator de risco robusto para prever o resultado, e foi incluída na lista final de variáveis. O nível de significância estatística adotado foi 5%. Resultados Cinco variáveis que pudessem prever de maneira robusta a mortalidade um ano após a alta hospitalar foram identificadas: idade, sexo feminino, escore da New York Heart Association (Associação de Cardiologia de Nova Iorque) >3, diâmetro do átrio esquerdo, e índice de massa corporal. Os modelos de derivação e de teste tiveram uma área de curva característica de operação do receptor de 0,79. Essas variáveis selecionadas foram utilizadas para avaliar o escore de risco de mortalidade por IC após um ano, e este foi dividido em três grupos (baixo, moderado e alto). O grupo de alto risco corresponde a aproximadamente 86% das mortes, e o grupo de risco moderado corresponde a 12% das mortes. Conclusão Um escore de risco de 5 variáveis simples pode ser utilizado para avaliar a mortalidade um ano após a alta hospitalar de pacientes internados com IC.

Abstract Background Cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of death in China. However, present efforts to identify the risk factors for death in patients hospitalized with heart failure (HF) are primarily focused on in-hospital mortality and 30-day mortality in the United States. Thus, a model similar to the model used for predicting the risk in patients considered for cardiovascular surgical procedures is needed to evaluate the risk of the patients admitted with a diagnosis of HF. Objective To identify variables that can predict post-discharge one-year HF mortality and develop a risk score to assess the risk of dying within one year. Methods In the present study, 1,742 Chinese patients with HF were randomly divided into two groups: a derivation sample group and a test sample group. A Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation method was used to identify variables that can predict the one-year post-discharge mortality. Variables with a frequency of >1% in the bivariate analysis and that were considered clinically meaningful were eligible for further modeling analyses. The posterior probability that a variable was statistically and significantly associated with the outcome was calculated as the total number of times that the variable’s 95% CI did not overlap with 1 (i.e., the reference point) divided by the total number of iterations. A variable with a probability of 0.9 or higher was considered a robust risk factor for predicting the outcome, and this was included in the final variable list. The level of statistical significance adopted was 5%. Results Five variables that could robustly predict the one-year post-discharge mortality were identified: age, female gender, New York Heart Association functional classification score >3, left atrial diameter, and body mass index. Both derivation and test models had a receiver operating curve area of 0.79. These selected variables were used to assess the one-year HF mortality risk score, and these were divided into three groups (low, moderate, and high). The high-risk group corresponds to nearly 86% of the deaths, while the moderate group corresponds to 12% of the deaths. Conclusion A simple 5-variable risk score can be used to assess the one-year post-discharge mortality of hospitalized Chinese patients with HF.

ABSTRACT Low light levels during rice (Oryza sativa L.) growing seasons may lead to significant reductions in grain yield and quality. The effect of shading stress on remobilization of nonstructural carbohydrates (NSC) from the stem plus sheath (SPS) to the grain, a process crucial to rice grain formation, was investigated. Field shading experiments were conducted in Hanyuan and Wenjiang, China, using two rice varieties (Huanghuazhan and Guichao II) subjected to shading stress after heading. Stored NSC of 60.00-159.15 g m-2 were remobilized from SPS after heading, contributing 9.63%-23.63% to grain dry weight at maturity. Shading stress resulted in the 23.99%-50.30% and 31.65%-61.33% reduction in NSC content of SPS at 20 d after heading (DAH20) and maturity stages, respectively. This contributed to the 13.80%-89.00% increase in the remobilization of stored NSC from SPS to the grain (RASN) and 15.86%-73.30% increase in remobilization percentage of removed NSC from SPS to the grain (RPRN). The effect of shading stress on remobilization differed between sites and varieties. Owing to a greater sink capacity, shading stress led to a higher RASN and RPRN from heading to DAH20 for ‘Huanghuazhan’ in Hanyuan. To compensate for photosynthate deficiency under shading stress, rice is adapted to remobilize stored NSC during early grain filling stages. Consequently, grain yield loss caused by shading could be reduced by increasing the SPS remobilization ability (especially in low light areas). Increasing NSC accumulation in SPS before heading for later remobilization may be a feasible way to alleviate rice yield loss under adverse light conditions.

ABSTRACT Purpose: Radical nephrectomy (RN) is the standard surgical type for pathological stage T3a (pT3a) renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Recently, some studies have suggested equivalence between partial nephrectomy (PN) and RN for oncologic control and have shown the benefits of PN for better renal function. We conducted this meta-analysis to assess oncologic outcomes, perioperative outcomes and renal function between two groups among patients with pT3a RCC. Materials and methods: PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, Ovid MEDLINE, The Cochrane Library, Embase and Google Scholar were searched for eligible articles. The endpoints of the final analysis included overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), recurrence-free survival (RFS), surgical complications, operative time, estimated blood loss (EBL), serum creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Results: Twelve studies of moderate to high quality, including 14.152 patients, were examined. PN showed superiority for renal functional preservation, providing higher eGFR (WMD=12.48mL/min; 95%CI: 10.28 to 14.67; P <0.00001) and lower serum creatinine (WMD=-0.31mg/dL; 95%CI: −0.40 to −0.21; P <0.00001). There were no significant differences between PN and RN regarding operative time, EBL, surgical complications, OS, RFS and CSS. Despite inherent selection bias, most pooled estimates were consistent in sensitivity analysis and subgroup analysis. More positive margins were found in the PN group (RR=2.42; 95%CI: 1.25-4.68; P=0.009). Conclusions: PN may be more suitable for treating pT3a RCC than RN because it provides a similar survival time (OS or RFS) and superior renal function. Nevertheless, this result is still disputed, and more high-quality studies are required.
